Teacher training tops the table
Since 1914 there has been a teacher training establishment at the Caerleon Campus. Originally the Monmouthshire Training College catered for males until 1962 when female students were admitted. Many thousands of teachers from all over the world have been trained here.

As well as excelling in initial teacher training programmes, the School offers undergraduate courses and initial teacher education for intending teachers in primary and secondary schools. The school also offers postgraduate courses, part-time and professional courses for serving teachers and other professionals working in education and a range of related subjects including, English, History, Religious Studies and Philosophy and Creative Writing.
